There are a few ways Lestat can answer that question. The most obvious way, of course, is showing off. He can't deny how he'd delight in telling Daniel he heard his thoughts. Maybe Daniel already knows he can do that, but it's impressive nonetheless. On the opposite end, Lestat can play nonchalant, keep his secrets but flash a knowing smile and let the man come to his own conclusions.
But what Lestat likes more than anything is putting on a show. He revels in the chance to be dramatic. It's easier to find what makes people tick when you're not ashamed to be larger than life. So he leans in and his head bows, mouth coming close enough to the proximity of Daniel's neck that Lestat hopes to hear his heart jump with a startle. There isn't any press of lips or teeth, though. Instead, there's a slow inhale as Lestat drags the tip of his nose up along the line of Daniel's neck, stopping only when its nestled into the hair above Daniel's ear.
"The scent of him clings so persistently to you. I wonder," Lestat says, reaching a hand up to brush his thumb against the bite mark masked by Daniel's collar, "what you did to get such a rise out of him."
